Welcome to Robyn’s Open Road: Why I’m Starting This Blog
A new space for my travel stories, business lessons, positivity moments, and everything else life puts on my open road.
Hair wild. Heart full. Sun shining — welcome to my Open Road.
If you’re reading this, then welcome — truly.
You’ve officially stepped onto Robyn’s Open Road, a place where sunshine, story, humor, detours, leadership, and positivity all come together into one big, beautiful reflection of my life.
I’ve wanted to start a blog for a long time… and to be honest, I’ve even tried before. But the timing wasn’t right. Or maybe I wasn’t quite ready.

Now?
Now I am.
Now feels different.
Now feels like the season where the stories I’ve lived — on the road, in my business, and in my heart — are meant to be shared.
Because the “open road” for me isn’t just about travel.
It’s also about the other road I’ve walked for nearly 29 years — the road of business ownership, building Winning Edge Graphics, creating a workplace culture I love, learning resilience the hard way, finding my voice as a leader, and discovering the power of positivity through real life, not theory.
Winning Edge has been in business for 45 years…and I’ve been part of that story since 1997.
Almost three decades of lessons, growth, surprises, and the kind of wisdom you only get from living it day by day.
This blog is where both of these roads finally meet.
Why start this now?
Because life keeps nudging me with the same message:
✨ Tell the stories.
✨ Share the lessons.
✨ Bring people along for the ride.
And honestly?
I want that too.
Travel gives me surprises, coincidences, detours, and moments that make me laugh out loud.
Business ownership gives me growth, perspective, gratitude, headaches, humor, leadership wins, and the kind of insights you only get from being in the arena for 29 years.
And somewhere in the middle of all that…
I became a storyteller.
People tell me all the time:
“Robyn, you need to write a book.”
“You need to share these moments.”
“Your posts make me want to travel.”
“Your positivity is contagious.”
So this is me saying yes.
Finally.
The Almost-Blog: A Funny Detour
I actually did start working on it a few years ago…
I tried to name it “Robyn’s Trips.”
Until I saw it written out.
“robynstrips”
Let’s just say it reads a little differently depending on where you put the emphasis.
😅😅😅
Absolutely NOT where I was going.
So that one went straight to the “nope” pile.
But “Robyn’s Open Road”?
That feels like me.
What you can expect here
This blog will be a blend of every road I travel — the literal ones and the life ones.
🌴 Travel Stories
The funny ones, the heartwarming ones, the “only Robyn” ones.
🏭 The Road of Business Ownership
Lessons from nearly 29 years of running Winning Edge Graphics — the culture, the people, the growth, the leadership moments.
💛 Positivity & Resilience
Not the fluffy kind — the real kind.
The kind you earn through adversity, rebuilding, and choosing joy anyway.
😂 Humor
Because if you can’t laugh at the detours, you miss half the magic.
☀️ Encouragement & Inspiration
Little sparks of sunshine — the small moments that make a big difference.
Why “Robyn’s Open Road”?
Because it’s how I live:
Open to new possibilities.
Open to new experiences.
Open to growth.
Open to the unexpected.
Open to new roads.
Open to new people.
Open to the next chapter.
And the best part?
I’m just getting started.
What’s coming next?
My next flight.
My next adventure.
A sunrise departure in Phoenix, and a sunset arrival in Mazatlán, who doesn’t know what’s coming next.
I’ll take you with me — through the stories.
The people I meet.
The things I learn along the way.
And the reminders that life is made of moments — like the one that starts a new chapter as the sun sets over the ocean.
Here’s to the open road ahead. 🌅✨
Fun fact to wrap this all up:
And for the record… I wrote my very first official blog post in the Priority Lounge at the Mazatlán airport. Somehow that feels exactly right for me — a little spontaneous, a little glamorous, and perfectly timed.
Here’s to the endings that turn into beginnings — and the roads that keep opening.
